The Bubble Hem
a short and sweet explanation
This skirt is a variation on the original Paris Skirt which I posted about on August 5th. I’m notoriously bad at knitting the same thing twice (even most of my sleeves are not identical). So when initiating the Paris Skirt knit along in December, I had all the best intentions of following my own pattern but already failed at cast on. Due to losing at yarn chicken I cast on ten stitches less which I knew wouldn’t be a problem given the vast amount of positive ease in this skirt on my body. After messing up the cast on I did follow the pattern pretty much exactly. I say pretty much because I never know. I might have knit a few rows more or less between the increase rounds. I did decide on making a bubble hem pretty early on. So here’s how I did that:
